ALASKA STATE INCENTIVES
Provided by the Rural Business Cooperative Services (RBS), Business
And Industry Loan Guarantees of up to $25 million are available
for businesses located in rural areas or cities under a population
of 50,000 (in Alaska this includes all areas outside the municipality
of Anchorage). Applicants may be individuals, partnerships, corporations,
cooperatives, or nonprofit corporations. Almost all legal non-agriculture
businesses are eligible. Eligible purposes include real estate,
equipment, working capital, transfer of ownership, and debt structure.
Value-Added Producer Grants provide funding to independent
agriculture producers (this includes fishermen), producer groups,
and producer-owned cooperatives. Funds can be used to support marketing
of the producer's value-added products, or for working capital needs
related to the processing facility.
