NEW MEXICO State Incentives

Through New Mexico 9000, businesses may obtain IS0 9000 certification on a sliding scale based on gross receipts. The certification process takes only one year. Trained professionals with extensive experience in ISO implementation will conduct 17 three-hour workshops including interpretation of the standard, ISO 9001:2000, procedure writing, and consulting on business-specific ISO compliance issues. In addition, half the fee will be refunded when the company passes an independent New Mexico 9000 audit for compliance. New Mexico 9000 is an affordable program that prepares New Mexico companies to attain internationally-recognized ISO 9001:2000 status. ISO certification is a basic requirement for many international and government contracts.

The Job Training Incentive Program funds classroom and on-the-job-training for newly created jobs in expanding or relocating businesses for up to six months. The program reimburses 50% to 70% of employee wages and required travel expenses. Custom training at a New Mexico public educational institution may also be covered.

The High-Wage Job Tax Credit equals 10% of the wages and benefits for each new economic-base job created. Qualified employers can receive the credit for up to four years.

The Manufacturers Investment Tax Credit allows manufacturers to take a credit equal to 5% of the value of qualified equipment imported and used in a plant, provided the manufacturer meets the criteria of hiring additional workers to earn the credit.
